On September 27th, 2024, Horizon Japan International School hosted a remarkable charity concert featuring world-renowned pianist Alejandro Vela. Known for his performances in prestigious venues around the world, Vela delivered an unforgettable one-hour recital, captivating the audience with his masterful playing. After an encore, two Horizon students, selected for a special Masterclass, presented him with flowers and a gift in appreciation. Following the concert, Vela conducted a Masterclass, offering invaluable advice to the students as they played their own piano pieces. Throughout the event, donation boxes, designed by the PYP student council, filled up with contributions from the audience. All donations will support those affected by last year's earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture. Special thanks were also given to Mr. Yokoyama, a Horizon parent who donated the grand piano used in the concert and personally tuned it before the event. The evening was a beautiful blend of music, generosity, and community spirit.
